When couples contact us about what to wear and what to bring to their upcoming photo sessions (whether bridal, engagement, or other), I have one clear bit of advice: bring props! They can be artifacts from real life or simply colorful additions for viewing pleasure. Recent examples from our work include balloons, a kite, and a parasol.
Why are props so great? They give you something to do with your hands and they add eye-candy for the viewer. They can spice up an ordinary shot give you the excuse to play a little bit and liven up the scene!

). Want the perfect parasol? Seattle vendor Bella Umbrella has so many beautiful umbrellas that might be impossible to choose the perfect one! We found the above fabulous kite at Gasworks Park Kite Shop. Their selection of kites is huge so get inspired! I also love thank you cards, white boards for comments and even my family’s soon-to-be-famous glasses/mustache combo

The moral of the story: get creative, be yourself, and have fun!
