Isaac + Natalya: Family, Friends, Fun!

Over the weekend we finished a sneak peek of Isaac & Natalya’s June wedding. It was a beautiful Seattle day and this happy couple were so full of energy. They decided to forgo the ‘first glance’ in favor of seeing each other at the ceremony, so we had to look elsewhere to find their story. After looking through the shots and reminiscing about their amazing day, we realized that the story is in their relationships. It is in their faith, their love for each other and the people in their lives, and their ability to have a really good time! This little film was a joy to put together. We wish the happy couple all the best in their adventures abroad!!

Roman + Nataliya: A Dream Come True | Seattle Wedding Cinematography

Alex is always trying to come up with new ideas to present wedding films in a new way. Months ago, he had the idea to contrast a little girl dreaming of her wedding with a beautiful bride celebrating her day. We just had to find the perfect bride. When Nataliya emailed to say that she was engaged, I knew we had the right girl. She loved the idea and she quickly realized that her dressmaker’s daughter would be the perfect little actress. When we showed up to film, we had no idea how gorgeous it would turn out–the room of dresses was the perfect detail! And of course our favorite Seattle wedding magazine, Seattle Met Bride & Groom, had to make a cameo!

Nataliya and Roman complement each other perfectly and it was such a pleasure to spend this cool October day with them. They got ready at the Bellevue Hyatt Regency and its gorgeous lobby was the perfect setting for their “first look.” It is so wonderful when brides meet their groom before the ceremony. This private moment allows the couple to spend a few minutes together and share a few words. The first glimpse of your beloved in full wedding regalia is such an intimate moment — it is wonderful to have a few moments to allow it to sink in!

Wedding: Gregoriy + Daniela – Part I | Bellevue Wedding Photography and Cinematography

We are so excited to share this Moldovan-Russian wedding with you all–Greg and Daniela’s wedding celebration filled our hearts with so many happy memories! Although they met and live in the United States, Greg and Daniela’s wedding brings together not only two families but also two cultures. They were married in a gorgeous, symbolic, traditional Russian Orthodox ceremony that so closely resembled our own ceremony four years ago. Daniela was so excited to incorporate all her Moldovan traditions that they scheduled out almost every minute of their exciting reception. Although tightly scheduled and filled with sometimes crazy traditions, it was easy for us to anticipate the events of the day because, well, we knew them by heart. Alex is from Southern Ukraine, not far from the Moldovan border. We found that many of the traditions we followed for our own wedding were very similar to those in Moldova

As this week is OUR FOURTH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, we thought it appropriate to share this beautiful wedding with you. It will come in two parts: I. Morning preparations and Ceremony and then II. Photo session in the park and Reception.

In many Slavic cultures, the groom must first “buy” his bride in order to show that he will provide for her long into the future. Daniela’s brother Denis was the family representative and was a tough bargainer. But for him, it wasn’t about money–it was about love (although a little cash helped!)

In a Russian Orthodox ceremony, when the couple first enters the church, their rings are placed halfway down their fingers. Their witnesses exchange the rings three times before finally placing them on the ring finger of the right hand. They then move forward to the altar to become Husband and Wife, one whole.

This kind of family photo is every photographer’s dream. Gorgeous location, happy family, and a little bit of unexpected comedy to lighten the scene. This neighborhood dog came bounding in from the side–ball in tow–in hopes of finding a friend to play with!

We knew that John and Ream were cool when we did their love story, but we really found out how awesome they are after spending the whole day with their friends and family for their wedding. Every wedding detail was so carefully chosen, every moment so filled with joy. It was a pleasure to spend the day with you guys!

Not only were John and Ream awesome, but so were their venues. We spent the morning and evening in the new addition of the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue–their wedding was the first to use the brand new Grand Ballroom! The actual wedding ceremony was held at the richly-adorned St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. John and Ream are members of the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church, and John was very proud to have found Orthodox members of his wedding team: Photogs GeorgeFoto from LA are Armenian Orthodox and we’re Russian Orthodox. It turns out we could film more freely in the church that way

GeorgeFoto was very gracious to allow me to snap photos throughout the day. We’ll have the wedding trailer up very soon!!
