Taz + Chanvatha: Love Story

We first met Chanvatha at the 2010 Get Hitched, Give Hope–she first made an impression with her excitement for her wedding and her support of our creative work. She also turned out to be our silent auction winner–she bid the winning amount for a Love Story Film–the proceeds of which all went to Get Hitched, Give Hope’s charity, the Dream Foundation, which grants wishes to adults with terminal diseases.

We spent one Saturday afternoon shooting this Love Story Film and put it together to show at their intimate Hawaiian wedding. They were so cute–slightly nervous during their individual interviews, they came alive when they were together. Such a great couple! It was such an honor to be a part of their Love Story.

Vlad & Victoria: Do you remember this place?

Finally we are able to show this love story film that we have been creating over the past couple weeks with Vlad and Victoria. They were so excited to share their journey to marriage with their friends and family–and it was an adventure to create. Victoria gave us a loose “screenplay” with locations and events, but we all had to figure out the technical details as they came. We had to make some date changes because of the weather, location changes because of restrictions. . .and it took a while for everyone to get coordinated. But it all worked out for the best in the end! We even had the unexpected participation of Victoria’s father–his segment is in Ukrainian, but it is easy for anyone to pick up the tension in the air as Vlad asked for Victoria’s hand.

This film premiered last night at their wedding reception to an enthusiastic audience!!

Get Hitched, Give Hope is Here!

We are so excited to be participating in the 2010 Get Hitched, Give Hope! They’ve set their sights high–they hope to raise $50,000 for the Making Memories Foundation, which is dedicated to granting wishes for stage IV breast cancer patients, while continuing to support, educate and increase awareness of breast cancer.

ZinchukFilms has donated a Love Story film to the event’s silent auction! This story of “how you met” is shot in a 3-4 hour session which can include interviews, creative shots, or even an entire film script. Many of our couples have shown this special film at their wedding reception.

Our love stories are valued at $1000, and can be converted into a credit in that amount toward a ZinchukFilms wedding package. We will be showing Love Stories and Wedding Films at the event, so be sure to stop by and see what we are up to!

We shot a Love Story film in Port Gamble with this creative couple. All we knew is that we were hoppin’ a ferry to this picturesque town. Here are just a couple photos and film outtakes from our day.

Love Story: Steve + Karen | Seattle Wedding Cinematography

Is it possible to find true love on the internet? Steve and Karen certainly think so. However, it’s not an easy process to date only based upon a photo or two online and a short profile. This is the story of how Karen and Steve met . . . only slightly exaggerated

Steve and Karen are already experienced filmmakers. Steve has already created at least one independent full-length film, and Karen and his friends and family have all played roles. When it came to creating this Love Story, they were old pros. Together, Karen and Steve wrote the screenplay and it was a great joy to bring it to life on the silver screen at their fabulous wedding on Saturday. It was an amazing experience to hear the laughter echo through the halls of Seattle’s Sunset Club as their friends and family watched their story for the first time.

Valentin + Julia: Love Story

We had quite the adventure last Sunday with Valentin and Julia–hoping to do something out-of-the-ordinary for their engagement/love story session, we headed up to Mt. Rainier in search of snow. For the entire drive, the weather was changing every five minutes from rain to sun and back again. We had no idea what to expect! But the mountain pulled through and we had a ton of fun in the freezing snow, lush forests, and in a grassy field. We met lots of friends along the way–friendly dogs checking out our interviews; a herd of deer quietly munching on dinner. We even saw nature at work as clouds appeared over Mt Rainier. Most of all, it was great to get out of town, breathe some fresh air, and spend some time with this wonderful couple!

For the first time, we were able to shoot 24 frames-per-second on our Canon 5d Mark II cameras. An update came out last week that allowed us to shoot at the traditional film speed of actual film (as opposed to 30 fps on TV). This gives more depth to our images and we couldn’t be more pleased as to how it turned out!

Engagement: Valentin + Julia

When Julia and Valentin called to schedule their love story, we initially thought we’d go to a park, take nice photos, and be done. But when they sent us their song choice and we looked at the weather forecast, we got the idea to go up to Mt Rainier to do something a little different. The weather was unpredictable (as was forecasted), but it turned out incredible. We battled rain, sun, and snow to do one of the most fun shoots yet!
