Solomiya and Vitalik are such a loving couple. Solomiya has a great eye for style and all the little details made it such an elegant affair. From morning preparations at downtown Seattle’s Fairmont Olympic hotel to the gorgeous decor at the ceremony and reception venue, it was a joy to shoot their wedding. They lucked out to have such a GORGEOUS Seattle day–it was a blast shooting at Golden Gardens after the wedding.

We actually had fun shooting all day–we are friends with Solomiya’s brother Vlad (who gave the most heartfelt toast!), who is the main photographer at Voir Photography. You can see their beautiful wedding pictures on his blog.

When we shoot wedding films, it is so important to find a way to creatively edit the film so that we can tell the couple’s story in a unique way. Their “trash the dress” session at Ocean Shores gave us the inspiration we needed. We blended their vows (in Ukrainian) with music and images to set the mood for their film. We decided to translate Vlad’s toast from Ukrainian with subtitles so everyone could follow along!

Greg + Daniela: Trash the Dress | ZinchukFilms

Greg & Daniela’s beautiful Russian-Moldovan wedding was a full day of family, friends, tradition, and dancing. That didn’t leave much time for wedding portraits, so they scheduled a Trash the Dress session a few months later. Daniela is a designer by trade, so she put her talent to use with a ton of DIY props. These are just a few of the first shots we captured at Alki Beach. More pics of this gorgeous couple to come!

Seattle Wedding Photographer | Voir Photography

Remember this vintage camera? It’s a Bauer C1M Super-8mm film camera produced from 1968 to 1971.

We finally got to test it out for a promotional film we did recently for Seattle wedding photographers Vlad & Irina of Voir Photography. We started early on a Monday after a long Sunday wedding, but the shoot was full of energy. All we knew when we showed up was that Vlad and Irina and their assistants, Solomiya and Pavlo, would be shooting two couples in after-wedding sessions. We knew they wanted shots of them hard at work and of their beautiful couples. Oh, and a timelapse of them getting set-up. Thanks to their careful planning (and a lot of great props) this film turned out to be a ton of fun!

As for our Super-8mm camera? This shoot proves that “it’s not a toy.” It actually gave us some pretty awesome footage that perfectly fit Voir Photography’s vintage style.

Alaska Wedding Photography: Tamila + Max | Part III

With these photographs, we bring Max and Tamila’s wedding celebration to a close. In Part I we saw their wedding morning preparations, in Part II we saw their Anchorage wedding ceremony, reception, and evening photoshoot downtown. And now we have come to their day-after session. One perk of choosing Zinchuk Studios for destination weddings is that we include a complimentary day-after session in our coverage. If a couple takes the time to fly us to their wedding, we both want to explore the destination and give the couple the benefit of a fun, carefree photo shoot. As mentioned previously, Max and Tamila were amazing hosts and showed us the beauty of the Anchorage area. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the sights we saw (a bear! moose!) and the amazing shots we got.

As it turned out, the day after Max and Tamila’s wedding was also Max’s grandma’s birthday. It was wonderful to be able to take some family shots of such a special occasion to celebrate this amazing woman:

SNEAK PEEK | Max + Tamila – Anchorage Wedding Photography + Cinematography

Ummm, wow! What a weekend this has been! We headed to Anchorage, Alaska on Friday for an awesome wedding and it has been nothing but a remarkable experience! Max and Tamila have been the most gracious hosts, not to mention a sweet, wonderful couple. We’ve had such an experience here–Anchorage is a cool town (it gets dark right now after 1 am!), the wedding was really beautiful, and today we headed into the mountains and visited the wilderness. We saw a bear! And moose! And went shooting, both literally and figuratively. Needless to say, we will be posting A LOT of photos and video from this experience. But for now, a sneak peek!!

SNEAK PEEK | Viktor + Alena: Wedding

Wow! Viktor and Alena’s wedding yesterday was full of surprises! Alena is a longtime Zinchuk Studios follower and commenter, so we knew that they wanted a fun video. We knew that they were young, fun, and totally into each other, but we had no idea just what tricks they had up their sleeves After a traditional wedding and reception, we headed to the beach for a quickie Trash the Dress with photographer Alex Udodik. It was SO FUN to spend the last moments of light on their wedding day together for some awesome images. Here’s a couple shots I took:

We finally headed home after a LOOONNG day (I randomly woke up at 4:30 and napped until our alarm at 5:30) and when we got to our front door, we found a little family of swallows setting up a home right right next to us

Alex + Vera: In Love! | Part II

Alex and Vera’s photo shoot was so fun that I posted it in 2 parts. In Part I, we visited an old monestary and enjoyed the sunset on a beach. In Part II, we’ve got a lighthouse, a beach and a mystical forest. Alex and Vera get a little dirty–and a little wet!

Alex + Vera: In Love! | Part I

Vera contacted me back in July with an unusual request – after watching her sister Anna’s Trash the Dress video, she knew she wanted something similar. But she didn’t have a dress to trash–in fact, she’d never had a real wedding at all. Alex and Vera got married 5 years ago in a simple ceremony with family and friends. There was no white dress, no fanfare. But 5 years and 3 beautiful children later, she still held her dream of having great wedding photos and a fabulous video. And so we put our heads together and came up with an unforgettable photo/video shoot!

It was easy to work with Alex and Vera. They are so open and sincere–we felt like old friends fast! They completely trusted our vision and we followed their dreams. I knew Vera wanted two ‘moods’–one vintage, one modern. She had the veils and props to go with. We had the locations–an empty monestary, wide beaches, and a fairytale forest.

This shoot was so fab that I’m going to blog it in two parts–watch for Part II sometime next week!
